Signs and Symptoms:

The earliest sign of breast cancer is usually an abnormality detected on a mammogram before palpated by the woman or healthcare professional. Other signs of a cancer tumor may become evident as a painless mass.

Other symptoms may include:

  • persistent changes to the breast such as thickening, swelling, distortion, tenderness, skin irritation, scaly or nipple abnormalities
  • Ulceration, retraction or spontaneous discharge are some other symptoms that have been reported
